Trying to prove a point...

I look into the mirror... and what do I see?

A little smiling girl, looking at me. 

That girl might not be the best looking. As her eyes aren't the brightest and her skin not the most tan and her nails are chewed down. She doesn't have her ears pierced and her hair isn't up. She doesn't have many freckles and no glasses are seen. She doesn't wear dresses or really high boots. She has no makeup or lip gloss for the matter, I think the closest she's got is Chapstick. Her teeth aren't the best because she hates the taste of mint, and she doesn't wash her face. Her smile is a mess and is only sometimes around. Her skin isn't smooth or such, but she uses hand sanitizer. Her voice isn't special and she hates when she sings. Flip-Flops aren't worn often, really only inside. She wears the same two pairs of shoes all year because she can. 
And her hobbies are weird and never really shared, though it's a shock no one asked what she writes in that book...
She wears the same five shirts and two jackets, always worn with jeans. Last year in the play she controlled the spotlight in back! She dreams of playing D&D and meeting her friends. She has a snow globe collection and a board game one too! She sucks at Gym and Math as well, but she hopes that those won't get in the way... 

That girl isn't perfect, far from it in fact! But everyday she smiles into her mirror, she brushes her hair and brushes her teeth. She walks out from the mirror and goes on her way...


Perfection isn't a real thing these days, at least to this little one who doesn't really care. She is who she is and she likes it that way, why change what you look like? That changes who you are! So her flaws are more like specialties, just something to show off. So, her smile may be crooked but that's just how she is...


Smile your smile and keep your weird little grin, it's just how you are and that's how I'd like it to stay. GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY! Now i'm off on my way...
